Paradise-like setting
Mountain hotel in Austria in the Ötztal Nature Park
If you’re seeking tranquillity, you’ll certainly find it during your holiday in the Ötztal. Our unspoiled natural region is full of wonders that you can experience up close. Whether you are looking for peace and relaxation or unique adventures, you’ll find it all around our mountain hotel in Austria in Hochgurgl.

In 1840, the remote Ötztal Valley was still primarily visited by explorers and painters. The first tourists began arriving in Gurgl in 1939. In the 1950s, the construction of the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road laid the foundation for Hochgurgl, a mountainside hotel village. The Alpenhotel Laurin was one of the first to open its doors in the 1960s.

The nature park stretches from the valley floor to the high Alpine glacier area. From the Alpenhotel Laurin you can explore the wild flora and unspoilt natural landscape. Only in the outskirts of the nature park are there cable cars to make your ascent easier. In the core zones, on the other hand, you are accompanied only by the sound of rushing streams and the breath of nature.

A holiday in the Ötztal is the perfect opportunity to visit the Königstal, the Hohe Mut, and the Stuibenfall, the highest waterfall in Tyrol. There are plenty of shady spots in the Obergurgler Zirbenwald, where ancient Swiss stone pines over 300 years old grow. If the weather isn’t on your side, the Naturpark Haus in Längenfeld offers a glimpse into the diverse nature of the Ötztal.
