Afterwards, the route leads slightly downhill before ascending again towards Hohe Mut.

Treasure Hunt in the Zirbenwald – Your Adventure in Obergurgl
For pleasure hikers

Discover the Secrets of the Zirbenwald

The themed trail leads you deep into this remarkable ecosystem, where over 300-year-old stone pines stand strong against the harsh Alpine conditions. Between these gnarled giants, mosses, lichens, and rare alpine flowers flourish, while alpine choughs and golden eagles soar above. Keep an eye out – you may even spot chamois and marmots on the steep slopes and rocky terrain.

How to Find Your Treasure?

Along the marked trail (Themenweg Zirbenweg), you’ll discover small treasure boxes (caches). Each box contains a riddle! Solve it and write down the letters on your treasure map. Once you've solved all the riddles, the letters will form a secret word.

Now, take your solution to the Gurgl Information Center, where the final step of your treasure hunt awaits: Find the object that represents your secret word and uncover the mystery!
